Martina was a great host and an excellent communicator. She provided everything we needed to have a great time. From the thoughtful email and WhatsApp suggestions of things to do and places to go in the area, to the extension she brought, so we could work from the flat for a few days. Overall one of the best interactions we've had with a host.
Neighborhood
Marvilla/Beato is a great area, very artsy. It's a bit more spread out than some of the more central Lisbon suburbs, but still walking distance. It has a bit of a village in the middle of the city vibe to it. We got to know some of the locals during our stay. No Metros, but there are bus lines that make the rest of the city easily accessible from 9 to 40 min travel time.

So much to do in this area, but some highlights include:
National Tile Museum
Rua Capitão Leitão (Craft beer. Restaurants - No Leitão though)
Aquele Lugar que Não Existe
Praça Beato in Creative Hub Beato

I can definitely recommend this place. Nice apartment in reasonable price, located in a quite peacuful area. Close to several bus stops (15 min by bus to Lisbon center). The owner is really kind and helpful person.
Neighborhood
This part of Beato district seems to be peaceful and safe area. There are several bus stops near the apartament (e.g 15-20 min by bus to Cais do Sodre or Alameda). The main drawbacks in terms of public communication is lack of Metro station in reasonable walking distance.

There is an awesome gelateria called "Gato Gelados" in front of the bus stop.
