What should I do before moving in?

The article was updated on 11. 7. 2024.

Wondering what needs to be done before the property handover? See this article for detailed information about the move-in process!

Before you head to the property handover, we recommend that you contact the landlord to confirm your meet-up details. You can send them a text via the Messages section of your profile, or you can use their personal contact information that become visible to you once you finalize the lease signing process.

You should then come to the property handover on the agreed date and time. It's important to mention that:

  • Unless you and your landlord agree otherwise, the start date of the lease agreement is the date of the physical handover of the accommodation.
    • In case you agree on a different date of your arrival, we recommend that you either ask the landlord to create a lease amendment stating this change, or contact our support so we can change the date directly in the lease. Please note that if you move in on an earlier date, the landlord may charge you extra rent for the additional night(s) of your stay.
  • The time of your move-in is stated in your lease and you can also find it under the reservation details in your profile. It varies for each listing as it depends on the landlord's customized settings.
    • If you need to arrange an earlier or later arrival at the property, please contact your landlord beforehand to negotiate an individual agreement.

Rest assured, we'll also email you specific instructions and FAQs before your move-in date so you have all the information at your fingertips.
