In what currency should I pay the rent?

The article was updated on 3. 7. 2024.

In this article, you can learn what should be done if the landlord's currency is different than yours. See our recommendations below!

Generally, the best option is to pay in the currency set by the landlord which is displayed in the Payments section of your profile.

If you don't have this option, you can pay in any other currency that you have available. However, it's necessary to consider the daily exchange rates.

  • In case you choose any online payment method, we always charge you the exact amount in the landlord's currency according to the current exchange rate of our bank.
  • If you want to pay via bank transfer while using a different currency, you can find the current exchange rate of our bank under the bank transfer details. However, the exchange rate valid on the day of the transfer can be different on the day the payment is credited to our account, which makes it very likely that when we receive the payment from you, there will be an underpayment of the rent. For this reason, we recommend sending a little more money than the system indicates. If it causes an overpayment, it will be applied to your next rent or the landlord will return it to you.

You can read more about the possible payment methods and their specifics in this article.
